Welcome to Journey Builder

Journey Builder is a visual workflow designer that empowers you to create and manage automated customer experiences. Think of it as a flowchart for your business logic; it allows you to map out the specific routes a customer takes, the actions triggered at each juncture, and how the system responds to real-world data in real-time.

Key Benefits

  • Visual Design: Leverage a drag-and-drop interface that makes even the most complex workflows easy to visualize and understand
  • Flexibility: Build everything from simple linear processes to intricate, branching workflows tailored to specific customer segments
  • Automation: Reduce manual overhead and eliminate human error by automating repetitive tasks like emails, CRM updates, and system syncs
  • Visibility: Gain immediate insights into customer progress and team performance at every stage of the journey

Core Concepts & Real-World Analogies

To architect effectively, you must master the "Journey Hierarchy." We recommend viewing this through a project management lens to ensure your team remains aligned:

  • Journey = The Project (The goal)
  • Stage = Project Phase (Major milestones)
  • Step = Specific Activity (Grouping of actions)
  • Action = Individual unit of work (The "doing" part)

The Hierarchical Tree

Journey (Project)

Stage (Phase)

Step A (Activity)

Action 1 (Task)

Action 2 (Automation)

Path (Conditional Branch)

Step B (If Condition True)

Step C (If Condition False)

Navigating the Interface

The system is split into two primary environments: the Journey List, which serves as your administrative index, and the Journey Builder, your primary creative workspace.

Working with the Visual Editor

  • Navigation: Use your mouse wheel to Zoom for a granular or bird's-eye view. Click and drag the background to Pan across the canvas. Utilize the Minimap in the corner to jump rapidly between distant sections of a large workflow.
  • Editing: Click any component to select it. This action opens the Sidebar, where you will configure all technical parameters. The top Toolbar contains global controls such as Save, Validation, and Publish.
